Títol: Global dynamics in a simple predator-prey model
Resum: Dynamical systems provide a fundamental mathematical framework for understanding how complex and unpredictable biological behavior can emerge from simple nonlinear interactions. In this talk, we consider a map modeling the interaction between two species: a predator and a prey. The map is not invertible but an endomorphism. This feature is key to understanding the emergence of interesting phenomena. We will study how the standard invariant manifolds interact with the so-called 'Critical Lines' and the effect this interaction has on global dynamics. Numerical simulations suggest the existence of strange attractors, and infinitely many periodic orbits.
